claude lune: oliver's late brother. claude was four years older, and was killed by a dragon at age sixteen. claude was very protective of oliver, and oliver thought very highly of his brother too. claude trained as a dragoon, and oliver followed in his footsteps.
sebastien lune: oliver's late father. a mercenary from the brume until age twenty-two, he was in love with a noble's daughter, oliver's mother. after she ended up pregnant with claude and got disowned, sebastien eloped with her, got a job as a temple knight, and they started raising claude together. after his wife's death, sebastien became abusive and succumbed to alcoholism. he is a source of much of oliver's trauma.
eloise toussaint: oliver's late mother. the daughter of an ishgardian noble, she was quite rebellious and frequently went against her father's wishes, including falling in love with sebastien, a man without any highborn blood in him. she cut contact with her family and instead started one with sebastien, until she passed away from complications giving birth to oliver. oliver gets his freckles and heterochromia from her.
estinien wyrmblood: his childhood best friend and former lover. they met at age twelve when they were both starting to train as dragoons. their relationship became strained when estinien and aymeric started seeing each other, and only really got mended after the events of heavensward when the near-loss of estinien made oliver realize life is too precious to stay mad at him.
caspian voltaire: his husband. they knew each other since their late teens but didn't really talk to each other until about two years before the events of a realm reborn when their romance blossomed. caspian became oliver's rock, and was throughout all the events of ffxiv's main story. caspian is my partner's oc, more info on him here
primrose voltaire-lune: oliver and caspian's biological daughter. after endwalker and after they got married, since there wasn't any warrior-of-lighting left to do for a long while, they decided it was good timing to have a child. oliver had some fears that he would be like his own father, but caspian was reassuring, and oliver is nothing like his own father when it comes to primrose.

story

Oliver was born to Sebastien Lune and Eloise Toussaint on a cold evening during the 6th Astral Moon in his childhood home in Ishgard's Brume. His father was a Temple Knight and his mother was a stay-at-home mom to his brother, Claude, who is four years older than him. His parents fell in love young and had both Oliver and Claude young. However, due to their family being very poor and complications during his mother's pregnancy, she passed away shortly after his birth, and he never got to know his mother. After his mother's death, his father started losing himself to an alcohol addiction and became abusive. After Sebastien became disabled and lost his job, Claude eventually started training to be a dragoon at the age of twelve, with promise of financial compensation because Ishgard needed soldiers. This was how the boys kept a roof over their heads. Oliver followed in Claude's footsteps four years after that. It was at the beginning of his training that he met Estinien, who would become his best friend and first love as the years went on.However, at the time, Ishgard was at the height of its tensions with the Dragonsong War, so one day, while Oliver, Claude, and Estinien were out on a training mission in Western Coerthas, the three were ambushed by a horde of dragons. Claude urged the two younger boys to get away, at the cost of his own life. After Claude's death, Oliver's father started to become more cold and abusive to Oliver as he slipped further into alcoholism due to the loss of his eldest son. The next four years consisted of Oliver growing to resent his father more and more, until Sebastien passed from liver failure at the age of 40. No longer having a place to live or family to rely on, Alberic, Estinien's adoptive father, took Oliver in as well until he was able to move out and get his own place.Oliver started to train to become a Temple Knight at eighteen, which is where he met Caspian Voltaire, his current husband. Though, at the time, he didn't exactly trust him due to Caspian being a highborn. This is also when Estinien met Aymeric and fell in love with him, putting an end to him and Oliver's undefined romance. The tension this caused triggered the only real interaction that Caspian and Oliver had with each other in ten years; Oliver and Aymeric were sparring, but Oliver was distracted and clouded by his anger, which caused Aymeric to accidentally slash Oliver under his eye with his sword. Caspian was one of the ones who rushed to Oliver to provide first aid. This event is how Oliver got the scar on his right cheek.He spent the next ten years as a Temple Knight, only growing to resent Ishgard more and more. Eventually, he picked up part-time work at the Forgotten Knight as a bartender. And one night, Caspian ended up being one of his customers. They had a conversation, and eventually started dating. Caspian had familial issues, so their relationship was kept hidden from them. Except one day, Caspian's family found out about Oliver. Infuriated that he was courting with a lowborn man, they had the power to have Oliver removed from the Temple Knights, so they did. This caused Oliver and Caspian to have to leave Ishgard and flee to Gridania, where Oliver had plans to take up new work at the Lancer's Guild, mentoring young dragoons. On the chocobo carriage ride to Gridania, he had his first Echo vision. This was the start of the events of A Realm Reborn, and the rest is history.

lucille beaumont: a revered member of the sharlayan forum, lucille is the mother of celeste. with a specialty in the arcane and summoning, she graduated at the top of her class in the studium, where she met her husband, celeste's father. she joined the forum shortly after celeste was born. she and celeste had a very strained relationship by the time celeste was 7, with lucille's authoritarian parenting style smothering free-spirited celeste. lucille is also plus-size, and projected her self hatred onto celeste. they are not on speaking terms.
perceval beaumont: perceval "percy" beaumont, celeste's father, is a more laid-back kind of person than his wife. he graduated with a slightly-lower gpa than lucille at the studium, taking up the profession of a sage. he teaches classes at the studium, and fourchenault leveilleur is a dear friend of his. celeste was a daddy's girl but he was also a victim of lucille's controlling nature along with celeste, making it hard for him to protect celeste from it. she loves her dad dearly, but she has some resentment due to this.
y'shtola rhul: celeste met y'shtola during their time studying in sharlayan, and their romance started to blossom when celeste started helping out with scion things shortly after the seventh umbral calamity. y'shtola is more on the frontlines and traveling than celeste is, so they are often long-distance which leaves them both yearning.
drusilla: while y'shtola was in the first and celeste was stuck on the source not knowing what to do with herself, she met drusilla. previously having been a black mage but with interest in voidsent, celeste was drawn to her when she came across the lemures in the back alley of ul'dah. with drusilla mentoring her, she took up the art of being a reaper. she and drusilla grew close, and due to celeste's strained relationship with her biological mother, drusilla sort of ended up falling into a mother figure role for celeste naturally.
the warrior of light: celeste exists in a universe where the warrior of light is my wol (oliver). she gives invaluable intel that can help the scions, and in exchange, he lets her use him as a model for her fashion designs.
caspian voltaire: celeste met the warrior of light through her interactions with the scions, and she met caspian through her friendship with the warrior of light. the two of them became fast friends due to their shared trauma of being rich kids with an abusive mother and a passive father.

story

Celeste was born in the old Dravanian Sharlayan colony to Lucille and Perceval Beaumont, two highborn Ishgardians who studied in Old Sharlayan, and then moved to the colony to do research. Eventually, when Celeste was still very young, Lucille was offered a position on the Sharlayan Forum, and she and her family moved back to Old Sharlayan.Celeste was a loud and vibrant child, but once she started to get her own opinions, her mother basically punished that loudness and vibrance right out of her, and she spent most of her late childhood and teenage years doing as she was told and being sort of meek, which is why she didn't study Black Magic in the Studium how she really wanted - Lucille wanted Celeste to follow in her footsteps instead. As she was completing her studies at the Studium, she met Y'shtola. The two quickly became friends. All the while, the tension and arguments with her mother continued to increase until Celeste was fed up. Shortly after she completed her studies and right before the Seventh Umbral Calamity, she packed her bags and departed for Thanalan and found herself at the steps of the Thaumaturge's Guild. And through her connection with Y'shtola, she joined the Scions. Simultanously, her relationship with Y'shtola took a more romantic tone.While Y'shtola was in the First during Shadowbringers, Celeste didn't quite know what to do with herself, and she needed to find herself. She was walking on the back streets of Ul'dah at night, when she came across an older woman about to get mugged by some thieves. Celeste was about to jump in to help, but the woman wielded a scythe, and summoned a voidsent, and took care of the thieves herself. Fascinated by the way she channeled a voidsent, Celeste asked her name. Her name was Drusilla. Celeste knew that being a reaper was the path she wanted to take, so she started training under Drusilla.Upon her return to Sharlayan during the Final Days, her father reached out to her to reconcile. She is still not on speaking terms with her mother.After the Final Days, she traveled to Thavnair, where she now temporarily resides to do her research on voidsent.
